We here at Bruised But Not Broken are a very tight family. We do this out of our home, and we run  a pretty tight ship. We have a routine that these dogs are very used to, and because of that we don't need a lot of help.  When  we do there are several things that we do look for.

In the early spring, early summer time I like to start walking the dogs. What I would need is experienced dog walkers. Why because some of these dogs are still  working on thier leash skills, meaning that if you are not careful then they walk you.

We could always use help at events. We also like to have experienced dog handlers. We like to have at least one volunteer per dog at the event. Now if it is a big event like the car wash then we need a bunch of people (to hold signs/ wash cars). Most of the event we do are not big, we are little and not very often do we have more than four dogs at events. The reason for this is because it stresses the dog out, not only is he/she in a strange place there are other barking dogs and things that make them sometime super scared.  This is one of the reason we do not do alot of events because we feel that the dogs show better in thier enviornment and not in a place in a crate.

With that being said we need people that we can count on. Running a rescue is not an easy task and when you think that you have people that are coming to help that then don't show it only hurts us it doesn't help us. So please before you say that you want to volunteer make sure that this is something that you really want to do. Because not only do these dog count on us but they will begin to count on you.
