WHO WE ARE:

Bruised But Not Broken is a 501(c)3 non profit organization out of Grand Blanc Michigan.   We do this as a family out of our home. We provide training and crates when they are needed in order to keep a family together. We do not accept owner surrenders, we deal with dogs that are strays, heartworm positive, and dogs that are abused.

Bruised But Not Broken was formed in March of 2010 by Philip and I (Angela).  Being the proud owners of 4 very intelligent and well behaved pitbulls, we became very aware of the negativity that is attached to the dogs and we have encountered it everywhere.  We realize that our pets were anything but the negative creatures people were saying they were.  We decided to make it our priority to help change the perception of Bully Breeds and find homes for the dogs that were treated poorly, raised incorrectly or just simply thrown on the streets.

We also know that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners, and so many people have the wrong idea on how to raise, train, and treat animals in general. We have made it a priority to help others understand how to train properly through consistency and positive reinforcement, so that way they to can help others.

BBNB has made it our goal to spread our unconditional love for the dogs to the world, and do everything in our power to rehome unwanted dogs, regaurdless of the animals past. We only want to move forward, and believe that any dog, placed in the proper enviorment can live a full, happy life as well as provide much needed companionship to humans.

BBNB has always seen a need for rehabilitating bait dogs used for dog fighting. We have made a shift to learn all we can about these dogs both physically and mentally. Many rescues do not take on these dogs, so BBNB has made this our focus of our rescue work.

Even after many years we are just a small rescue, we don't want to be a big rescue, we don't want a big facility where we have more dogs that we can handle. We don't want fame or fortune.  We just want to follow our passion and have a community that stands behind us and supports our efforts.  We do this work out of our home.  This  is a family ran rescue it is Phil, Olivia our daughter and Marisa my daughter and myself.

Mission Statement:

     1. Educate others about the bully breeds,  and to help erase the negative stigma that has been attached to them for way to long.

     2. To focus on the need to rehabilitate dogs from the streets.

     3. To raise awareness about what it means to own a pet.

a: That these animals are not just pets they are family.

4: To place the dogs in loving homes after rehabliitaion/basic training is complete.

     5. To educate and raise awareness about the population control and the benefits of spaying and neutering, as well as how important

it is to adopt and not shop.

BBNB beleives that all dogs deserve a second chance on living the best life possible. We believe that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. We believe that all breeds need to be in a proper environment according to their specific personalities. No dog is the same we know that their match is out there we just need to find it for them.

BBNB does not believe that using a dog for any sort of personal gain or violence is appropriate, and we hope to help others understand this subject. We believe that all dogs are intended to be family pets and place them based on companionship, rather that protection or personal gain. We also beleive that when people consider taking a dog into their home, they should consider adoption rather than purchasing from a breeder or a puppy mill.
